Konqueror can't connect to http://localhost/ if eth0 down

Thank you Clay, that seems like what I've got.  One of my (few) annoyances
with KDE is the Service Manager.  None of the daemons is half-decently
documented, and it's impossible to tell what you really need and what's
bloat.
