Commercialized has nothing to do with free..... commercialized has to do with profit. I don't see them selling Ubuntu for a profit. Redhat, and Suse I do. Most of the time when big business takes over something free, it becomes commercialized....sold for profit....

I have a question with this. If dell is going to offer Kubuntu, etc on
laptops, does this mean there is a possibility that Kubuntu could become
commercialized and not a free distro? If it is successful, could this be a
possibility?
I am not sure what you mean by this question.
Ubuntu is already commercialized, but it is still a free distro. From day one, Canonical has offered businesses professional support for a fee. Just like RedHat charges for professional support.
What does being commercialized have to do with being free (as in beer and speech)?
