kubuntu 7.04 on a fakeraid raid 1 (mirroring)

Hi,
I am trying to install my server Kubuntu 7.04 on a fakeraid , I spend 
hours on it without success.
I even tried to use the alternate CD install which is supposed to 
install kubuntu on a raid system. but the cd install did not do any 
better (did not proposed me to build the array) than the DVD.
I found many post showing very complicated (and confused) way of doing 
it, and it was  for  Kubuntu version prior to  7.04.

Did any  one  could help me installing (one way or another) kubuntu on 
my fakeraid ?
