fkeys question

I have no idea.  For a mission-critical application like this, though, I think 
what I would do is what worked the first time.  You installed from a CD and 
everthing was fine until you messed something up.  Then you reinstalled from 
a newer DVD.  Different medium, different packages, etc.  Maybe there's some 
subtle difference in hardware detection or something that was brought about 
by booting from a DVD instead of a CD.  Maybe not, who really knows, and I'm 
sure I don't, but starting over with the CD that worked last time seems like 
a good place to start.

Just a thought.
