kubuntu install on USB external HDD

I installed kubuntu onto my external HDD while plugged into my desktop
machine with its HDDs turned off (I run caddies so it was easy)

In fact its easier than the howto, just install Kubuntu ... skip sections 7 & 8

Plugged the HDD into my laptop,
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
OK I had to google for which video driver ... & Up it came.
