latest feisty kernel can't see hda

If I had known how to use the UUID when I installed a new HD I would
never have had the problems I had with /dev/hda not being found.
Clearly, the UUID is a great invention for being able to move disks
around and still have them mount sanely.  Now I know and I'll never
have this problem, again.
