How to list an UUID?

Personally I'd like to be able to tell kubuntu to NEVER allow UUIDs to
be used even by "apt-get dist-upgrade"...

I have several partitions on my NON_removable hard drives. some of which
frequently get reformatted via mkfs... If /etc/fstab refers to them by
UUID the next reboot complains... 

And when editing fstab and or especially grub, (where the automatically
updated file didn't include the nice helpful comment lines with the
/dev/hdX# information that apt-get replaced with UUIDs) I can much more
easily understand which entry is what when it's referred to via /dev/hdX#...

IF I was going to rearrange my hardware, I'd expect to have to edit these
files. As I will no doubt have to do when/if kubuntu starts insisting on
sdX instead of hdX
