Denis, and list.

Last night (late) I posted a recipe fpr installing this scanner in Kubuntu. I
have discovered it contains an error. In the section where I talk about
detecting the scanner after it is hooked up:

-- ignore any reference to scanimage -L (won't work until after driver is
installed)

-- sane-find-scanner should detect something at this point, but wont list
Epson by name. You should see something like:

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8, product=0x0119) at libusb:005:004
  # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported
by
  # SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.

except see the above note about scanimage.

I can only claim the hour was late and my brain was full when I sent my
original answer to your question. Apologies for any confusion.
