where did my /etc/inittab go???

Hmmnn upstart? man upstart didn't yield anything. [sigh]
At least the files in /etc/event.d do seam to be fairly straightforward.
To help me find them next time I'm looking for an inittab, I did a:
ln -s /etc/event.d /etc/inittabSTUFF
<grin>
I made the "telinit" changes you suggested. But haven't yet reboot the
laptop. (It's trying to download a live sabayon dvd image at the moment)
If the teleinit settings don't work I'll let you know...
