I´ll be watching this thread with interest.
I am presently still using a P3 1ghz with 512mb ram that I build a few
years ago,
and it is time to upgrade.
I use my computer primarily to work (translating documents), so I, too,
have no interest in 3D gaming.
I do, however, shoot digital photos and manipulate them, but I don´t
think I need blazing 3D graphics
capability to do so.
I will likely purchase parts from Tigerdirect.com, but if anyone has
other suggestions
on where to acquire quality components for excellent prices, I would
appreciate the info, too.
My HDD is practically new, so I have no intention of changing it out
(200gb is more than plenty for me).
I also wonder, can I change the mobo/cpu/memory and simply reboot the
same system?
I will also be changing my monitor (to a large LCD). I assume, of
course, I should not do so at the very moment
I change these other components, but, will Kubu auto-detect a new
monitor and later X settings accordingly?
(Like kudzu in Fedora would do)
