This web site is full of total nutcases that want to make their
computers have no fans so that they have no sound. This means dealing
with heat. It is a really great and fun site to learn about making
your computer quieter and how to deal with heat problems. You will see
in some article there, a man using an IR heat probe to check his CPU's
running temp. LOL It is a good site and they did help me make my
computer quieter than my vacuum cleaner.

PS The key to my computer was hanging the HD with my wife's cloth
covered hair rubber bands in the DVD section of the box. It works
great and costs nothing. I also slowed down my video fan with a
resistor in the circuit. The only fan you hear is the power fan. Now
you really can't hear the computer which is good when watching movies.
Silent? No, but in the past I could not even sleep in the other room
with it roaring away. My new computer came with a broken fan on the
CPU heat sink which is what started all this research.
