I remember the long walk and the rattlers, sw virginia 09/21/47. My first
three years at a 2 room school had a 2 mile walk through the woods, the first
half mile was straight up the side of a mountain. Had to cross the creeks on
the bottom rail of a fence while holding on to the top one.
