avoid graphical boot process

Hello.

I was trying to find out info about this question and I'm sure it must be
there, but I was unable to find it.

I would like to see the system messages while my kubuntu is booting, but the
only thing I see is this big kubuntu logo with the progress bar under it
until it shows me the login screen. Can anyone point me in the right
direction to avoid the graphical screen and to see the booting process
output?
