Glad you are looking into the fun of *buntu and the linux world.  I do not
have 1 MS box in my house anymore.  I decided to make my wife learn how to do
things in linux so I switched all 7 of my machines to kubuntu and she had to
dive in.  Anyway, long story short, she loves it and when she has to use MS
at a friends or relatives she can't stand it.  Too slow, menus are weird,
can't find anything, etc...  I am not trying to put MS down here.  My point
is anything can become easy if you learn how to use it.  I have now converted
near all of my family.  My grandfather of 81 years young just let me convert
is laptop and desktop over completely.  He is a huge e-bay user and has been
very happy with the linux conversion.  My mother, father, brother, and now
grandpa have been completely converted and are not looking back.  The only
thing they are upset about is they paid all that money in the past for virus,
spyware, operating system, office products, etc... and will never see that
money back.  There was some setup involved and that is o.k. because if you
ever setup xp from scratch you will know that you have to find the drivers
and install them.  It is not always a pretty process either.  The only people
that I hear complain the most is gamers.  The game selection is trying to get
better in linux but I don't play many so it doesn't bother me.  You can
always dual boot but sometimes just diving in is more fun.  Just don't get
frustrated too quickly.  If you changed from you native language to another
one you wouldn't learn it in a day.

Have fun.

Jeremy
