Companies who produce proprietary software do not take away your
freedom. I agree that Microsoft (the usual target of linux freedom
fighters) does take every step possible to restrict the end users'
freedom, but that is not true of all proprietary software companies.

It's an atrocity that a software company will not let you modify and
redistribute their code?
