The answer you'll get to this question in a Kubuntu list is obvious.
Seriously though, I find Gnome to be too limited. The filemanager
stinks, first and foremost. Very limited in views and functionality.
Plus metacity (the actual window manager gnome uses by default) offers
no configurability as to window classes and such. For example, I like
to make my Eterm windows all display a certain way on a certain
desktop. Metacity offers no such capability.

I could be wrong, but on the surface, this sounds like it might be the
directions for changing from Gnome to KDE? As long as you install
Kubuntu, you won't need to worry about this step.

Evolution may do this, I'm not sure. Otherwise, like someone else
suggested, keep a folder for each individual person. I use claws-mail
and I have processing rules for my inbox that take all read messages
older than a few days and stuffs them into a mailbox corresponding to
that persons name.

I have no trouble with this. From konqueror, I can access a coworkers
windows box just by putting in the ip with the whacks, \\192.168.99.99

I print directly to a printer attached to the network here, but some
of the other Linux users here in the office have printed to Windows
shared printers without any difficulty. When you're adding the new
printer, it presents you with the option of choosing that type of
printer.
