Speeding up KDE -- More Help Needed

Free _real_ memory is pretty well irrelevant.  Once you've loaded sufficient
applications to start swapping, your memory should always be close to 100%
used.

I'd be surprised if it's worse for memory "handling" - it's just that there
are so many more memory hungry toys...
