Booting problems with KDE ?

Well that explains the messages I am seeing as well....

Incidently the reason I see these messages is that the boot procedures stalls 
right before x-server starts and for a second I can actually see the TTY 
login.  This is a fairly new experience for me--didn't happen in Dapper or 
Edgy.

Everything else appears to be normal with me, except that my drives do not 
show up as icons on my desktop, even though I specified that they should be 
there with appropriate KDE systems setting panel.
