This has been happening to me a lot lately also.  It isn't necessary, perhaps 
not rude, but unnecessary.  The list is configured so that replies default to 
the list.  We subscribe to the list, so we get a copy anyway. I spend a lot 
of time deleting duplicates.  I doubt people do this maliciously, but I wish 
they would stop.
