Answering Jonathan, the point was that we put the [$i] at the beginning of the 
kdeglobals instead of putting it for bloking each one of the restrictions we 
configured in the general section. We tried to put the [$i] for the whole 
General section and we had the same problem. This made kmail not to write 
user config (folders, account settings, etc.). We concluded with this 
configuration.
