Please, understand that my point is not how to do it , but the fact it
is like that per default (as in Ubuntu).

Concerning the menu, I didn't want to tell this but since you've
mentioned it, in Mandriva, the menu is not really a KDE one, it's a
layer above that make it dynamic. eg. if I install kopete only as a chat
client, it will be under Internet->Kopete. If I add Gaim, the menu will
change and kopete and gaim will be under Internet->Chat->Kopete and
Internet->Chat->Gaim. That layer is called MenuDrake. My point in
telling you this is the place of the sotware in the menu do not depend
entirely on the packager (as you said). But in Kubuntu, it always does.

I don't want to start comparing the two, I just pointed Mandriva because
that was the distribution that made me see that we can have in Kubuntu a
better Look And Feel and that a job can be done for that.

I knew some of you would start saying, "It's easy to do it", "the way to
do it is ..." but that's not my point, my point is , why not make a Look
And Feel Spec for Kde in Kubuntu just as good as Gnome in Ubuntu.

I am an Ubuntu user and the moment I posted that topic was just after
trying out Kubuntu.
