Sound Crackling after installing Nvidia Drivers

Hey guys, I finally got rid of the HP and bought a Dell with a 256 MB Nvidia 
GeForce 7900 GS.  Everything on this machine worked right off, except for the 
3D support.  So, I installed the Nvidia 9745 drivers using the "envy" script 
from here: http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html
I also had previously tried installing the Nvidia drivers from the repos (877* 
I think) and the previous version 9631 of the Nvidia drivers.

I have a problem that when I reboot the kernel can't find something about the 
Nvidia drivers from their website, and all the drivers when they do load 
cause my sound to crackle and pop. 

Any ideas?
