New Update of KDE 'Bits & Pieces'

I got into a muddle with an attempt to update /play with 7.04 on my  
desktop (x86).  For stability I want to return to 6.06 ... but kde is  
getting confused!!  What files should I remove so I can re-establish  
the kde from 6.06 while preserving my mail and other downloads?

I am using a separate /home directory which I don't want to have to  
backup and save (if possible).
