intro and grub question

not a grub expert either, but like bryann said, try using a different
keyboard. i had the same problem expect mine was on a NEWER system, which
was very odd. the default setting was PS2 and I was using a USB keyboard. as
soon as I was able to access the bios before booting up, i made the change
and haven't had any issues since.
