Problem loading 6.06 LTS from live/install CD

I have never heard of this problem until now, but there are some 
others who have usb mouse problems too - found with searches. The 
pronblems do not seem to be just with ubuntu. I have a selection of 
mice, usb and ps2, and have never seen a problem though.

Is it possible to try another mouse, and or a ps2, or try usb-ps2 
adapter or something?
