user switching does not work in Kubuntu 7.10

It freezes the PC absolutly. Even keyboard raw mode didn't work. Only reset did help. I don't have 
second PC to make SSH connections.

I use fglrx - perhaps is this the problem.... I didn't try without. Actually I don't have time to 
play forever - with Kubuntu 6.06 it worked even I used fglrx. I can live without fast user switching 
if it does not work even it's not comfortable for me. I hope, that in 8.04 is it fixed. Ubuntu has 
anyway so much bugs that it's quite hopeless, that it can fix them so fast...
