vim autocmd

Sorry to bring this up again.

Did:

  sudo apt-get install vim

to get the full vim. This so that I can get the
restart at last position option to work.

Running kubuntu 7.04 x86_64 on an AMD64 system.

When I try to start up vim I get the following

adams at kubuntu7:~$ vim
Error detected while processing /usr/share/vim/vimrc:
line 44:
E518: Unknown option: autocmd
Press ENTER or type command to continue

When I do

:version

while in vim, it shows that the autocmd has been set at compile time.
I added the ! to the autocmd three line option after the word normal on
the second line. A known bug to be fixed in next release.

Any one have a simple solution? Thanks in advance.
