Another question about Samba and fstab

Why is that?
I have recently added a wireless link and find the m/c often sits for ages 
saying it is seeking a DHCP address, sometimes it just gives up, sometimes it 
moves on after a very short pause.
I feel sure my network/wireless configuration isn't optimal.
