Konqueror's viewmode_toolbar with multiple icons

Dear all,

I've been struggling with that problem for quite a while (this started with
Dapper and is still there with Feisty), but with no success.

With some distros (e.g. Knoppix 5.1 or according to that picture from
konqueror's website: http://www.konqueror.org/pics/konq_icon.png), it is
possible to have the so-called "viewmode_toolbar" to create several icons.
One icon for the icon view modes, another for the list view modes and
optionally some icons for remaining special modes. On the above picture, this
corresponds to the last 5 icons of the tool bar. For those that don't know
the viewmode_toolbar, this is this strange part of the toolbar that you can
remove through the configuration tool but you can't put back without hacking
the XML konqueror.rc ;)

So I'd like to retrieve the same configuration on my feisty kubuntu but so
far, I didn't find where to patch the kubuntu files.

Of course, I first tried the "How do I change Konqueror back to the default
KDE profiles?" from http://www.kubuntu.org/faq.php#konqueror. But with no
success.

Then I downloaded the dpkg source from kubuntu and the SVN source from KDE and
diffed everything. But the differences are quite small and AFAIK not related
to this problem. Of course, I shall have compared with the source from
Knoppix - since I know they offer what I want - maybe I'll do it...

So my question is twofold: does someone know how to fix that? does someone
have a "recent" Kubuntu with those split icons for views?

Thanks
