beryl trouble - no window bars

I recently did a fresh install of Feisty on my laptop.  Previously I
was running Edgy and I had beryl/aixgl running just fine.

Now when I run beryl, it works, but none of my windows have titlebars
at the top.  I can alt drag windows around and the drag effects work,
transparency works, I can alt-ctrl-button 1 to enable to the desktop
cube and that works fine.  I tried to changing to many different
themes in the emerald theme manager, no luck.  I tried blowing away
~/.beryl* also no luck.

Any ideas?
