Since nobody actually answered the question, I'll point out that there is no
universal "undelete" type command for Linux. There *is* "e2undel" for ext2
filesystems only (but not reiserfs, xfs, etc., and I'm not even positive it
works on ext3) but I have never heard anything positive about this utility.
Word seems to be don't bother trying to use it. I've never tried.
That's why I have backups, and when I delete something I hadn't backed up,
that's why I have a brick to whack myself in the head with for being so
stupid.
It's happened a time or two.
