Font Blurry on new Linux Distros

Dunno. In (Dapper) my System Settings->Appearance->fonts I use DejaVu (min 9 
points) and I have anti-alias ticked on. In the options I have "Use sub-pixel 
hinting" ticked with RGB as the choice. Hinting style is Full.
My fonts look super - very readable. I am on an LCD monitor and they are fine 
with or without the nvidia driver.
