Kubuntu Edgy & printer ink levels

If you are talking about the HP driver for Windows having a Linux equivalent, I think that you are better off without it. It tells you the ink needs replacing when the cartridge is still half full and it drives my daughter nuts. It is really designed to sell you more cartridges.

I know nothing about that printer, but most inkjets work off the HPLIP driver
these days. There's a utility with that driver called hp_toolbox, and it's
installed on my system by default, even though I don't have an HP printer.
You should have it. If anything will show you the ink levels, it will be
that utility.
