Calling Kubuntu Inkscape users

Thx - I have done my best sleuthing in that regard, but cannot really make 
head or tails of it all. I was hoping to get other users to confirm my 
experience.

It seems that the people in the Inkscape forums have not experienced this and 
that makes me think that it's *not* a problem with Inkscape but rather a 
problem with Kubuntu's packages -- perhaps GTK or something else.
