Calling Kubuntu Inkscape users

Hello,
I use Inkscape quite a lot - I am on Kubuntu Dapper - and I find that it slows
down horribly after about 15 or 20 minutes of use.

It does not seem to matter what I am doing; how simple or complex. I must
restart it in order to keep going. Forms that don't redraw their controls are
common too (as it starts to grind down). When I kill Ink it can take upwards
of 30 to 40 seconds for Kubuntu to respond again. Everything stops (mouse
still moves, but no clicking etc).

I have chased this up on Inkscape dev lists and I even filed a bug:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=604306&aid=1693787&group_id=93438

I can't say if this is Inkscape's fault or GTK's or ... or ... ??? No idea. Is
Inkscape more stable on Ubuntu for example?

So far none of the Devs seems to think I have an issue at all (or they just
don't know and remain silent) -- so I wanted to ask other Inkscape users who
are on Kubuntu what they have experienced. It's frustrating being pretty much
the only one on the planet to experience this ...

/d
