KDE Graphic Quality

What's the "dullness" like? Perhaps you can include a screenshot? 

I recently got a Samsung LCD and it seems I am limited to 16bit colour -- I 
see bands of colour in gradients. I don't know if this is an LCD thing, an 
nvidia (my card) thing, a Kubuntu thing, an X thing or just bad settings. Is 
your situation similar?
