openoffice 2.2 installation using Adept on a Kubuntu 6.06

What I did was this:

Download the rpm's from Open Office and untar them into a directory.
Then su to root (or do sudo)
alien -d --scripts *.rpm
It will take /all/ of the rpm files and convert them to debian packages.
then (still as root) do:
dpkg -i *.deb

You should have a fully functioning Open Office 2.2 installation when
you're done.  Good luck.
