Thanks, it's just what I needed...

Now installing ksynaptics to my {mepis with broke eth0} and sabayon
installations should be as easy... 

But even if I have to work on it a bit to get it to mepis, at least I
know what to install to get it working...

Now if I could just figure out how to stop vista from doing the same
thing... Ah that is something a little less drastic than:
#mkfs /dev/hda1
which tempting though it might be, is NOT planned...(at least, not yet)
