What kernel to install for AMD Core 2

It most likely is.  However, if you're using a Athlon64, you'll be 
wanting the k8 kernel.  The k7 is for the Athlon XP processors, though 
I'm not sure about that.  I know that the k6 is for Athlon1400's and 
Durons like my server, but I could be wrong.

You'll most likely need to install a generic kernel, since installing a 
64-bit kernel with everything else 32 bit can cause problems.
