adept problem

hi all
my name is nigel and ive being convertad ,one small prob i can't get  
updates, i have changed the reposatories thing and have checked on them in  ? lists 
please helpi have installed dapper 3 times now with still no luck .  please do 
walk through i'm not to hot in terminal
