Serial printer problems

HI list..
I'm trying to install a Raw serial printer in my kubuntu but I'm
having problems. First, the serial port is not detected
by the printer instalation wizard, but I'm able to specify
the device "by hand", typing serial:/dev/ttyS0.. It warns me
that this devices was not auto-detected and continues.. Then
I selelct the driver (Raw mode), put a name and when I hit finish,
I get a error message saying it was not possible to add the new
printer.. I've a already installeld paralell printer that works just fine..
I think it is something about the serial port not being detected...

any hints??
