try again... help with installing from CD with serial mouse

Hi all,

how do I install from the (X/K/Ubuntu) CD with a serial mouse?  currently  
booting from the CD does not find the mouse, but running from e.g. tty0:

$ sudo mdetect
/dev/psaux
intellimouse
