Spell check in Kate

Do you have the dictionay aswell (aspell-en)?
If you do and it dosen't work try ispell and iamerican (for american).
Maybe you need the package "kate-plugins" it says something in
there about spell checker.

I have kate, ispell, ibritish and kate-plugins and spell checker works
for me.
