I'm thinking that when I installed automatix on my Kubuntu system, it
asked if I wanted to keep the new or revert back to the original
sources.list file. If you answered that you wanted to keep the new,
it renamed the existing before overwriting. If you answered that you
wanted to revert back to the original, then that's what it did.
It's been awhile since I installed it so my memory may not be
completely accurate, thus YMMV.
