Partition Magic for linux?- Help! I broke something

It could be that all your partitions have moved. If you are able to logon in
runlevel 1 or 3 you would be able to use df (diskfree) and/or du (diskuse)
as root or equivalent you can look (cat /etc/fstab) to fstab and try to
mount the filesystems by hand mount -a mount -t ext3 /dev/hdaX /media/name
etc. Once again, probably your partitions are renamed from /hda3 to /hda2
and maybe your swap partition has also become another name. As soon as you
are able to mount for instance the "old" partition to a new dev as mentioned
above you can re-edit your fstab into the right sentence.
vi /etc/fstab use insert / replace Shift + : and wq to wright your new
fstab,
