In the "Desktop" configuration, "Behaviour", "Device Icons" tab, you can
change some of what you see - there must be a setting that hides
the /dev/sda icon, as I don't get one of those, though I have a USB device
that creates /dev/sda and /dev/sda1, too.  Just play with the check boxes
and see what you get :-)
