KMail spell checking

Hi there,

in KMail my default language for spell checking is German. But sometimes -- 
like now -- I'm writing in English. So I want to switch the language 
on-the-fly. I go to "Settings"->"Spellchecker..." and change to English. The 
manually invoked spell checker ("Tools"->"Spelling...") seems to respect this 
change. But the on-the-fly spell checker does not: almost every word I type 
is red (indicating it is misspelled).

Does anyone know a "right" way to switch the spell checking language 
on-the-fly? Or is it just a bug?
