Data recovery, an ext2/3 advantage? (was: laptop-mode disabled in kernel?)

Well as for data recovery tools I don't know. As for *nix filesystems from
XP all I know is ext2/3 using the EXT2IFS driver found at
http://www.fs-driver.org/
