One suggestion is to try to ping the windows machine
to be sure the VPN connection is working.
The other is to make sure you specify the protocol you
want to use when connecting with krdc. Use
rdp://<ip_address>, not just the ip address as you do
in windows.
Also giving more details about what exactly did not
work would increase your chances of receiving a
helpfull reply.
