Can't find network card

Wel Paul I first must take a look into my history, but the following
commands would do the job:
ifconfig eth0 up 192.168.1.18
netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.254
(netmask and broadcast address may be ommitted)
And if required, with the next command you will add YOUR default
GateWay.
Route add default gw 192.168.1.1
